Qualification

Scientific Assistant

Candidates must possess the required educational qualification prescribed
under the Uttar Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory Subordinate Technical
Service Rules.

The required qualification is a relevant postgraduate qualification
(M.Sc./equivalent) in one of the applicable scientific fields,
including:

• Biology / Forensic Science with relevant specialization
• Physics / Forensic Science with relevant specialization
• Chemistry / Forensic Science with relevant specialization
• Computer Science / relevant Computer Science qualification

The detailed notification should be checked for the specific subject-wise
qualification applicable to each post.

Lab Assistant

Candidates must possess the prescribed graduate qualification
in the relevant scientific field, including applicable qualifications in:

• Biology
• Physics
• Chemistry
• Computer Science

For the Computer Science field, the notification also specifies applicable
computer-related degree/diploma qualifications.

Age Limit

The age is calculated as per the prescribed date in the notification, with
the applicable relaxation for reserved categories and other eligible
categories according to Uttar Pradesh Government rules.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation is applicable to eligible candidates belonging to reserved
and special categories as per Uttar Pradesh Government rules, including
applicable provisions for:

• SC/ST
• OBC
• EWS
• Persons with Disabilities
• Ex-Servicemen
• Dependents of Freedom Fighters
• Women
• Outstanding Sportspersons

The notification specifies that candidates are required to pay an
online processing fee of ₹25 at the application stage.

Important: The examination fee for the Main Examination is
to be paid separately only by candidates shortlisted for the Main Examination.

Selection Process

1. PET-2025 Shortlisting

Candidates must have appeared in UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test
(PET)-2025 and must have been issued a PET-2025 score card.

Candidates for the Main Examination will be shortlisted on the basis of their
normalized PET-2025 score and merit.

Candidates having zero or negative marks in the PET-2025 score are not eligible
for shortlisting for the Main Examination.

2. Written Main Examination

The selection examination will be conducted through a written examination.

• Total Questions: 100
• Total Marks: 100
• Examination Duration: 2 Hours
• Question Type: Objective / Multiple Choice
• Negative Marking: 1/4 mark for each incorrect answer

3. Final Selection

Selection will be made according to the applicable examination and recruitment
rules, based on the written examination and other applicable selection conditions.

Visit the official UPSSSC website and open the Live Advertisement section.

Step 2: Open Advertisement No. 15-Exam/2026

Select the notification for
Forensic Science Laboratory (Combined Cadre) Main Examination 2026.

Step 3: Login

Candidates must log in using their PET-2025 Registration Number
and the required authentication details.

Step 4: Complete the Application

Fill in the required personal, educational and other details and select the
applicable post/qualification information.

Step 5: Pay the Processing Fee

Pay the applicable online processing fee of ₹25.

Step 6: Submit the Application

After successful fee payment/adjustment, verify all details and submit the
application.

Step 7: Download Application Form

Download and print the submitted application form for future reference.

Important: Candidates should ensure that they possess the
required educational qualification and other eligibility conditions by the
last date of application.

Important Note

Only candidates who appeared in UPSSSC PET-2025 and were issued
a PET-2025 score card can apply for this Main Examination, subject to fulfilling
the prescribed educational and other eligibility requirements.

Candidates shortlisted for the Main Examination will have to pay the prescribed
Main Examination fee separately before downloading the Main Examination admit card.
